Home: How It Works

This learning activity will take you approximately 30 minutes to complete. It consists of a presentation about mental health focused on schizophrenia, 2 informational videos, and reflective activities throughout to facilitate your learning. You will also have the opportunity to provide feedback at the end and will be invited to join a focus group.

Please follow the link to watch a Youtube video created by Lauren Kennedy, an Edmontonian living with a diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder, bipolar type. She has worked as a social worker and a healthcare researcher. She runs and hosts a Youtube channel, 'Living Well with Schizophrenia'. Lauren and her partner, Rob have been creating and growing the channel, which currently has over 150 000 subscribers and has received over 13 million views. They started it in an effort to provide education and community for those living with the illness, their loved ones, healthcare professionals, and anyone who is interested in learning more about mental health and schizophrenia.

In the video, Lauren describes what living with schizoaffective disorder is like and some of the symptoms she experiences.
